It’s been an exciting week for the nine of us authors who make up Authors on the Edge. On 21st June we’ll be releasing the third in our series of anthologies around the character of Miss Moonshine and her Wonderful Emporium in the fabulous town of Haven Bridge.
Our new anthology is called Midsummer Magic at Miss Moonshine’s Emporium – and it’s full of magic and our stock-in-trade happy ever afters!
This is the week of the cover reveal… and I love it!
Mary Jayne Baker is one of our authors, and she’s also a designer. We’re very lucky to have her – and her story in the new anthology is lovely, too!
Mary Jayne has refreshed our other two anthologies in the same watercolour style. Miss Moonshine’s Emporium of Happy Endings is the first in the series, and Christmas at Miss Moonshine’s Emporium is the second (although the books can be read in any order).
The new covers look lovely together!
I love them both and I think they look really fresh. I especially love the little chihuahua, which you can just see in the bottom right-hand corner. (He has a Christmas outfit on in the Christmas version 😊 )
If you haven’t read any of the Miss Moonshine anthologies, this little dog is Napoleon, and he was first dreamt up by another of our authors, Marie Laval. Marie’s story for our new anthology features a cat called Josephine 😊 I’ve had a sneak peek of all the new stories, and I think this third anthology may be our best yet!
Besides the new cover style, we have another exciting surprise in our new anthology. Midsummer Magic at Miss Moonshine’s Emporium will contain a map of Haven Bridge, in both the paperback and digital versions, showing the locations of all our stories, and of Miss Moonshine’s Emporium.
And here it is…!
Readers of my newsletter have already had a preview of this map. (If you’d like to sign up for my newsletter for previews, news, and freebies, here is the link. My offer to new subscribers at the moment is a free classic novel.) For those of you who haven’t seen the map yet, we commissioned an artist especially, and we absolutely love what she’s done. Livi Gosling has some lovely designs on her website if you’d like to check them out.
And now for my final piece of news. We’ve made a set of the three anthologies, plus an A3 print of our map, available in a special auction to raise money for covid vaccines worldwide.
If you’d like to put in a bid for all three books, including our lovely new map, here is the link to place your bid at Books for Vaccines. As you can see by the auction title, this is an auction especially for book lovers and writers. There are all sorts of items available, from a wide range of authors, and from agents and publishers offering to provide a critique, who are giving up their time to raise money for this cause.
(Our Miss Moonshine bundle is only available to readers in the UK from this site, but if you live outside the UK, please watch this space, as we’ll be running another giveaway in the near future.)
If you live in the UK, please do consider putting in a bid for our bundle, as all the proceeds go to providing vaccines worldwide. As it says on the website: ‘We must not forget about the countries who are struggling with the pandemic and who do not have the amazing access to vaccines that we have here.’ (For people outside the UK, items such as Zoom calls and mentoring or online critiques are open internationally, so please do check out the whole auction site.)
The auction ends on May 21st 2021, so put in your bids as soon as you can!

I hope you like our new cover – and our gorgeous map – as much as we do. We’re looking forward to release of the third in our Miss Moonshine anthologies, and the nine of us authors are very much looking forward to the day when we can all actually meet up in real life and celebrate!
Don’t forget to put in your bid for our three Miss Moonshine anthologies and our gorgeous map before 21st May 2021.
